ERIN was founded in 1983 with an emphasis on combining engineering experience with associated research and development programs. By incorporating both in a single company, ERIN provided enhanced applications that utilized state-of-the-art information while achieving greater success in research through the solid foundation provided by experience in applications. From its initial focus on supporting the electric power industry, ERIN now provides services worldwide for clients in the petrochemical industry, in bio-pharmaceuticals, in manufacturing, and in the government arena. ERIN has focused on facility and plant operations, maintenance, and design control to establish work processes to improve the efficiency and operational effectiveness of major industrial facilities. ERIN has developed and applied risk-based techniques to evaluate the complex interaction of systems, procedures, and maintenance that ensure the safe operation of highly complex facilities. This has resulted in the development and application of techniques for integrated reliability and safety assessment. Recognizing that plant availability and economic performance is crucial to clients, ERIN has developed processes to evaluate design and operational effectiveness, and monitor performance against target reliability and availability objectives. These performance indicators convert to real economic values in support of management decision-making and oversight while supporting the operational implementation of enhancement programs. ERIN's significant capability in application engineering, understanding of component performance issues, and regulatory compliance experience provides clients with a means to implement programs to meet design objectives while supporting the integration of design information with reliability and safety programs.
