ERIN Engineering and Research, Inc. (ERIN), an SKF Group Company, developed the PARAGON™ software as the next generation software tool for risk-informed decision-making.  The PARAGON software suite is designed to accelerate the integration of various plant management activities and support the long-term implementation of efficiency measure within the facility.  The PARAGON software package provides a complete framework risk-informed decision-making for configuration risk management and other risk-informed decisions.  The PARAGON program builds upon the EPRI ORAM-SENTINEL technology.

Deterministic model development applies plant components/trainings, configuration and high-risk evolutions to develop decision trees and fault trees supporting qualitative evaluations.  Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA) model and tool integration allows PRA application use of existing risk tool investment with the PARAGON software.  PRA categories and end states are user-definable to support future extension in PRA evaluations for industry applications or to highlight and address plant-specific interest.  If desirable, time-dependent analysis for allowed outage time and core damage probabilities are available.

The PARAGON software program's completely new architecture extends the program from a single user workstation to an enterprise application where common deterministic models, PRA results and schedule/results are shared and accessible by many.  Deterministic model developers and PRA modelers can continue to control and manage the information under the domain of their responsibility and extend their knowledge as an enterprise resource.

The PARAGON™ software suite provides a plant-wide resource for consistent evaluation and analysis of plant configuration risk. It also serves as an excellent tool for familiarizing plant personnel with the significance of plant configuration risk and the safety significance of equipment.
