| ERIN Engineering and
Research, Inc. (ERIN), an SKF Group Company, developed the ATLAS
software code to provide an interactive roadmap to
navigate facility information. Users navigate through design basis information from the
perspective of an object (a specific event, mitigation action, system, component or
reference). From the selected perspective, related events, mitigation actions, systems,
system functions, components, component functions, engineering requirements, parameters,
and references can be viewed. The navigation process is powerful and simple to use and
apply. The ATLAS software provides a heuristic environment for Information
Management and Knowledge Management.
The ATLAS software product features separate data builder and viewer applications. The ATLAS Data Builder application is used by design basis managers and engineers to create and control revisions to design basis information. Records can be locked to preclude inadvertent changes to information. Pending design basis revisions are displayed to users in the ATLAS Viewer module in blue, whereas approved design basis information is in black. The ATLAS Data Builder module features customizable lookup lists and detailed report outputs to control inputs and facilitate information review. Links to existing plant documents and component information preclude the need to maintain data in multiple systems. Security controls access to the ATLAS Data Builder application and individual records. Both applications use the Java-based ATLAS Search Tool program to allow powerful text-based search of facility information. The ATLAS Viewer module allows system and licensing navigation through the design basis information using the ATLAS Cube relating design basis objects, or from references and their relation to design basis objects. Users can store locators to information viewed and document insights using the ATLAS Maps module. Users may also store locators for references and reference excerpts using the ATLAS Bookshelf application. The ATLAS Maps and ATLAS Bookshelves modules can be used to document safety analyses and other project work, and that information can be e-mailed and shared with other users. |
